I-Beam Padding
Safeguard exposed steel beams with SofStop’s I-Beam padding—engineered for both performance and protection. These custom-fit pads are designed to wrap securely around vertical or horizontal I-beams commonly found in gymnasiums, arenas, or industrial-style facilities. Built with impact-absorbing foam and reinforced vinyl covers, our I-Beam padding helps create a safer, more functional space.
SofStop I-Beam Padding will be constructed as one “U-shaped” pad using a high-density foam filler (see descriptions below) cemented to 7/16″ oriented strand board and covered with a fire-retardant 14 oz PSY vinyl laminate, 16 oz or 18 oz PSY premium coated heavy-duty vinyl. All vinyls have high UV, mildew, and rot resistance and meet the following fire-retardant specifications (fire retardant to pass California State Fire Marshall’s Test NFPA-701 and ASTM-E84 CLASS A).
- 2” Polyurethane Foam Filler 95-100 ILD (Indentation Load Deflection, CAL 117)
- 2” Bonded Foam Filler 6 LB Density
- 2” Neoprene Foam Filler 6 LB Density (Class “A” meets ASTM-E84)
- 3” Polyurethane Foam Filler 65 ILD (Indentation Load Deflection)
- 1-¼” Polyethylene Foam Filler (Closed Cell)

SofStop I-Beam Padding is available in any height from 1’-0” to 10’-0”.
